Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Mascara

Hey everyone! First a bit of admin,  now, I know I said I would do a review on the Elegant Touch false nails, but I kind of forgot because ive been super busy recently, but I will do a tiny little review on them in a couple of posts time if you guys still want that. Also, my pictures would be much better quality but i was in a rush to a family party and quite frankly, my lighting was crap, i'm sorry!

Anyway, enough rambling. So I popped into my local town centre with one of my best friends Abi, who might feature in a post or even a video in the future (hint, hint) but we'll have to see. So, of course, me being me, had to go to Superdrug. I was desperate for a new mascara as mine had run out, but as much as I love my Rimmel Scandaleyes Show Off one, I was itching to try a new one.

So in my little thought pocket in my brain, I was wondering what mascara had gotten really good or mixed reviews that I could review on my blog. Tanya Burr, who is one of my favourite beauty guru's on youtube, used to praise the product I bought to the highest heavens so I thought id give it a go.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara. The mascara is supposed to create the look of false lashes without the fuss, hence the name.

First off, the colour. I am in love with this! It is easy to see in my makeup bag and when im rushing around running errands or im in school its easy just to grab because of how visible it is. Also, the packaging it came in is very easy to open, so when I first picked this up I didnt need to hack away with scissors to get into my mascara which I quickly needed to apply, which I am a big fan of!

The packaging of the actual bottle of the mascara is small and great for a handbag makeup bag or just to chuck in your bag. Ive been told I have very small hands so, if my hands are small, think of how small this little guy is!

The latest thing with mascars seems to be oddly shaped brushes but this mascara is what they call a "spoon" brush, not to mad but not as simple as a straight brush.

Hopefully from the picture you can see the "spoon" shape. The only thing I would say is wrong with this is that the brush does collect too much of the actual product, which means before applying you have to wipe the excess mascara off the brush onto the bottle which can get a little messy, but if you wipe the bottle once youre done you'll be fine and dandy.

The first time i used this I didnt realise so I put on this product and immediately went into the mind set of disliking it as it made me look like i have about 4 lashes. However, I wiped it off and decided to retry because believe me, I so wanted to love this product! So I applied two thin coats with the flat side of the brush onto my lashes which made them look nice, but I also waited for that to dry and then i applied one more thin coat with the arched side to give my lashes abit of a curl and they did look good, I have to give it that.

Im not quite sure the product lived up to the hype and rave, and I dont think its much less hassle that putting on falsies (sorry maybelline!) and the price is just a bit over what i am willing to pay for a mascara each month whenever I run out, however, this product is ok and i will continue using it until it runs out but this mascara is just a bit too wet for me, but i have heard it goes abit stiffer/tacky or whatever you would like to call it after a week of use so maybe next week I will be loving this product! I will keep you updated.
